PROFILES

Cameron Todd (trumpet) was born in Hull and soon after starting to learn the trumpet at school won a music scholarship to Winchester College. It was whilst there that he had lessons with John Wallace and was subsequently invited to take part in the 1998 Lake Placid International Trumpet Seminar in New York State, USA.

He went on to study at the Royal Academy of Music for both his Batchelor's and Master's degrees, leaving the Academy in 2004. To assist him at the Academy he was given successive awards from the Musicians Benevolent Fund and a grant from the Martin Musical Scholarship Fund. During his time there he worked with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales and also became a member of the European Union Youth Orchestra, of which he was principal trumpet from 2002. In 2004 for he was invited to join the UBS Verbier Festival Orchestra and he still plays with them today. In 2006 he took part in the London Philharmonic Orchestra's Future Firsts scheme and was also a member of Southbank Sinfonia. Aside from the classical music, Cameron took part in the Party at the Palace in the Queen's Jubilee year and was involved in a tour with Sir Elton John and his band.

As a soloist he has performed Hummel's Concerto for Trumpet in E flat with the Hayes Symphony Orchestra, and the Haydn Trumpet Concerto with Marcel Sinfonia. With Southbank Sinfonia he played Jolivet's Concertino for Trumpet, Piano and Strings in St. John's Church, Waterloo, and also directed the orchestra whilst playing in a performance of Telemann's Concerto for 2 Trumpets at the Wigmore Hall. In July 2006 he performed Shostakovich's Concerto for Piano, Trumpet and Strings at the Verbier Festival with Evgeny Kissin and the Verbier Festival Orchestra directed by Gianandrea Noseda.

Most recently he has been working as guest principal trumpet with the Orquestra Nacional do Porto, trialling with the RTE Concert Orchestra, Dublin, and was awarded the Philip Jones Memorial Prize for the Outstanding Brass Player at the 2007 Royal Overseas League Competition.

Mina Miletić (piano) was born in Belgrade to parents of Serbian and Bulgarian heritage. After gaining a Science Degree and attending the Academy of Music in Belgrade where she studied on full scholarship and obtained the BMus with highest distinction, Mina Miletić joined the Postgraduate Performance Course at the Royal Academy of Music in London where she was awarded the E Power Biggs bursary and where she studied with Paul Lewis and Colin Stone. Mina obtained the Postgraduate Diploma in July 2002 and was awarded distinction for her final recital. She was also awarded a special bursary from the Serbian Ministry of Science for 2000/01, received Newby Trust Educational Grant for 2001/02 and 2002/03, Craxton Memorial Trust Award for 2001/02, Sir Richard Stapeley Educational Trust Award for 2002/03 etc.

In 1988 Mina won the second prize at the National Piano Competition and received the Mokranjac Prize for outstanding achievement in 1992. She also won the top prize in the Petar Konjović International Piano Competition in 1998, a special prize at the Guildhall International Piano Competition in London in 2001, was highly commended at the Dudley International Piano Competition 2002 and was the semi-finalist of Bromsgrove International Young Musicians Platform 2003 and finalist of the Haverhill Sinfonia International Competition 2004. She attended master classes with distinguished musicians such as Ian Hobson, Peter Donohoe, Noriko Ogawa, Olivera Đurđević… and received chamber music coaching from Joseph Seiger, Lydia Mordkovich, Ruth Waterman…

Mina Miletić established her career regularly appearing in recital, as a chamber musician and concerto soloist at musical venues and festivals throughout Europe. She performed at the 30 th Belgrade Music Festival (BEMUS), ex-Yugoslavia’s most prestigious festival, recorded for Serbian National Radio and TV (RTS) and has given many RTS live broadcasts. Her international engagements have included concerts in Armenia, Bulgaria, Denmark, France, Iceland, Jamaica, Kuwait, Norway, Portugal, Serbia, Spain, USA and UK.

Mina is also an experienced chamber musician: she regularly performs with the clarinetist Katie Lochart, Bulgarian violinist Dimitar Burov and the Amaryllis Piano Trio which she founded with the soloists of the Academy of St. Martin-in-the-Fields.

Mina is currently preparing her doctoral thesis on ‘Interpretation of Impressionistic Piano Music’. She is also the Honorary Secretary of the Beethoven Piano Society of Europe since 2004, visiting piano teacher at Harrow School since 2003 and is active as a contributor and reviewer for the ‘Arietta’ Journal. Mina has also given master-classes in Armenia (Yerevan National Conservatoire), Bulgaria and Serbia.
